An Independence Day Speech
A Short
Speech on Independence and the Sacrifices of Scholars and Patriots
*****
In the name
of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
All praise is due to Allah, Who gave freedom
as honour to nations and honoured humans with intellect and religion. May
peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ,
his family, and companions.
Respected Audience,
Before I begin, let us send peace and
blessings upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
His teachings guide our hearts and inspire our souls.
First, I want to thank the organisers of this
Independence Day event. They have given me a great chance to speak about the
Muslims and scholars who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Today, we celebrate an essential day:
India’s independence from British rule. This day reminds us of patience,
struggle, and sacrifice, as well as education, guidance, prayer, and service to humanity.
It reminds us of how our people fought for our freedom.
The British rulers tried to control our land.
But our people and our scholars stood strong. They fought with their words,
their writings, their speeches, and their great courage and dedication.
Dear Friends,
A country is not just a piece of land. It
lives in us, in our hearts and in our dreams. India is a home for everyone.
People of many religions—Muslims, Hindus, Christians, and others—sacrificed
their lives for our freedom.
Muslims played a very important role. They
spread messages of freedom and suffered many hardships. They gave their wealth
and their lives to free our homeland. Therefore, the first thanks for our
independence goes to them.
Dear Students and Youth,
Independence is a great blessing. Muslims and
religious scholars contributed greatly to freeing India. They gave up their
lives, their property, and their comfort for the love of their country. Today,
we are free because of their hard work.
But being free is not enough if we still face
unfair treatment. Many Muslims still face injustice, a denial of their rights,
attacks on their property, and limits on their religious and political freedom.
Freedom is meaningful only when we can live
without fear and have all our rights. Sadly, many people are still fighting for
justice, even after independence.
Remembering
Our Heroes
We must never forget the Muslims and scholars
who sacrificed for our freedom. We should remember them, share their stories,
and teach the younger generation to love their country and serve humanity.
Some of these great freedom fighters and
scholars are:
- Allama Fazle Haq Al-Khairabadi
- King Bahadur Shah Zafar (last Mughal king)
- Mufti Kifayat Ali Kafi
- Allama Hasrat Mohani
- Mufti Inayat Ali Kakori
- Mufti Sadruddin Azurda
- Khwaja Mihrab Shah Gwaliori
- Khwaja Qutbuddin Dehlawi
- Syed Muhammad Qasim Shah Danapuri
- Allama Ahmadullah Shah Madrasi
- Maulana Faiz Ahmad Al-Usmani Al-Badayuni
- Mufti Mazhar Karim Daraiyabadi
May Allah bless them and grant them Paradise.
Their lives are examples for our nation.
Our Duty as
Muslim Youth
We should teach our children about our
ancestors and heroes. This history will inspire them to work hard, take risks
for the nation, and stay committed to what is right and true.
Also, be careful of those who try to change
history to erase the sacrifices of Muslims. True history gives us lessons,
courage, and knowledge.
In
Conclusion
Share our history with your children. Teach them about our past heroes and encourage them to serve the nation. Let's pray to Allah to help us and our children follow the lessons of these great leaders.
