This saying has a strong connection with the teachings of Islam. The Qur'an tells us that we should always seek knowledge and try to become better in whatever we do. It says, "Are those who know equal to those who do not know?" (Qur'an, 39:9)
We can see examples of this in our daily lives. Think about a child learning to read the Qur'an. At first, it is very difficult for them to pronounce the words and memorize the verses. But with practice and help from their teacher, they become good reciters over time.
Or consider a new Muslim who is just starting to learn about Islam. In the beginning, they only know the basics. But by studying and putting in effort, they can gain deep knowledge and understanding of Islamic teachings.
The path from being a beginner to becoming an expert requires patience, hard work and a willingness to keep learning. Islam encourages us to seek knowledge our whole lives, as Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave."
If we follow this principle, we can keep improving our skills and understanding throughout our lives. We can then become experts in our fields, while staying humble and thanking Allah for the knowledge He has given us.
The expert in anything was once a beginner.
